A day at the beach on Costa Tropical
Less than an hour’s drive from Granada is the Costa Tropical. As its name implies this part of the Spanish coast boosts a tropical micro climate and for this reason the area is apt for cultivation of tropical fruits and vegetables, such as custard apple and avocado. On an excursion to the Costa Tropical you can choose to relax and lie on the beach or partake in some water sports such as diving, windsurfing, snorkeling and sailing. The quickest beach to get to is called Playa Granada where there is also a seaside golf course and a decent restaurant directly on the beach. Obtain instructions from our reception to find your way there.
More well known resort towns are Almuñecar and La Herradura. When you drive down to the coast you will not miss the beautiful Arab hilltop seaside village of Salobreña. Narrow alleys between whitewashed houses and a ruin of a castle on top, Salobreña is well worth a stroll and attracts a partly bohemian crowd. At the bottom of the town you will find the beach and some restaurants right by the sea.
